Are you a family in need?

'Helping to take the edge off…'

We all have needs!  All families in the Church have needs!  But sometimes because of various circumstances – everything from bereavement, separation, debt, to divorce, unemployment, single parenthood, financial difficulty or stress - we can find it difficult to manage.  The Presbyterian Children’s Society is here to help.

'Sharing the load…'

For some families we are able to help on a longer term basis, for others short term immediate help may be more appropriate.  Help is in the form of regular and/or exceptional grants.

'When times are hard it’s good to know the grant is there…'

We work through our local Presbyterian Ministers who will be involved in the application process and distribution of the grants.  The grant is always given as a symbol of Christian love and care, and an expression of a compassionate community of which we all are a part.

'There’s not a lot of paperwork…'

The Society’s aim is to help families and their children with as little fuss as possible and even less paperwork!  The main criteria for helping is as follows:

  • You must have a child or young person under 23 years of age and if of the appropriate age to be in education they must be in full or part time education.

  • You must be under the pastoral care of a local Presbyterian congregation and within the Society’s income limits (Families below average earnings or receiving benefits are likely to be eligible).

If you would like to further explore whether you may be eligible for financial help please contact the Minister of your local Presbyterian Church.  If you are unsure of who to contact click on the following link to find out contact details relating to your local area.
